Swiss/EU/EFTA nationality

This page provides information for Swiss, European Union (EU) or EFTA (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) nationals who reside outside Switzerland.


You live in an EU/EFTA country:

Please contact the social security authorities in the EU or EFTA country in which you last paid insurance contributions. They should compile the appropriate European forms and send them to the DI Office for people living abroad (OAIE).

If you are a cross-border worker (with a G or L permit), the application should be sent to the DI Office for the canton in which you are, or last were, gainfully employed.


You live outside of the EU/EFTA area:

Please contact the social security authorities in the EU or EFTA country in which you last paid insurance contributions. They should compile the appropriate European forms and send them to the DI Office for people living abroad (OAIE).

If, among the EU or EFTA countries, Switzerland is the last country in which you paid social security contributions, please send the following forms to the OAIE.
