Social Security benefits

In order to ensure the international coordination, each State has administrative offices called liaison agencies (OL), who deal with and forward benefits requests from abroad or destined for overseas.

  • The Swiss compensation office (SCO) acts as a liaison agency concerning the old-age and survivors insurance under the 1st pillar of the Swiss social security.
  • The DI Office for insured people living abroad OAIE acts as a liaison agency concerning the disability insurance under the 1st pillar of the Swiss social security.
  • The international administrative assistance (EAI) acts as an instructing agency by introducing, coordinating and following up the pension requests of insured persons residing in Switzerland who are claiming foreign benefits.
